The Surgical Operations Area (VO) is one of the largest departments at Kristianstad Central Hospital and consists of outpatient services for vascular, upper/lower gastro, and breast/plastic patients. We also have an oncology treatment unit, Acute Surgical Department, Surgical Department, Urology and Vascular Department, Gynecology Surgery Ear-Nose-Throat, and Acute Orthopedic Department.

Our Surgical Department specializes in patients undergoing surgical treatment for conditions such as colorectal diseases. We also have patients with acute surgical conditions. Many of our patients may have an oncological diagnosis. We provide both pre- and postoperative care. The development within the specialty is advancing, surgical techniques and medical treatments are becoming increasingly complex and simultaneously more accessible to a larger number of patients.

We have knowledgeable and dedicated staff, and our goal is always to keep the patient in focus. We are a large team with different professional categories working closely together around the patient. Our department pharmacist relieves nurses by ordering medications, ensuring that all medications are available in our inventory, and restocking the medication carts for each team. The pharmacist also assists in preparing infusions, antibiotics, and tablet splitting. During weekdays, we have coordinators who coordinate all incoming calls and a SVU coordinator who plans and maps the patient’s needs before discharge.

We are further developing our department with additional nurses and nursing assistants.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nursing assistant, you play a significant role in a versatile and educational environment, where you work with varied tasks and often face new situations during a typical day. On the ward, we work in cross-functional teams. In this role, you will assist in the basic and specific care of our inpatients.

We offer you a varied job with opportunities for continuous development both in your professional role as a nursing assistant and participation in the work to develop and improve care in the unit. On our ward, we focus heavily on competency development, and we have a training nursing assistant who supports our new employees by conducting practical training and clinical supervision. We provide care around the clock every day of the week.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying are a trained nursing assistant and meet the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you have studied according to previous or current program structures. Additionally, you have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. Experience working in an acute care department and familiarity with the Melior journal system is an advantage.

It is essential for us that you are meticulous and take care of patients based on their various needs with a good attitude. As a person, you are engaged, proactive, and flexible, as well as open to new challenges and opportunities.
